Character Name: Kahlan Amnell
Character Age: 26
Character Class: Mother Confessor
Side: Good
Character Personality: Kahlan was a very beautiful, tall woman with intelligent green eyes. She wore her brunette hair longer than any other woman in the Midlands, as she held the highest rank of all. Being the Mother Confessor, she was usually dressed in her white Mother Confessor's dress, though she was not averse to wearing traveling clothes. Despite having grown up in the beautiful Confessors' Palace, Kahlan was far from arrogant. She longed for peace and for the freedom of all the people of her land. Kahlan was capable of being ruthless to those who committed treason or who were allied with the Imperial Order. Kahlan was adept at hiding her emotions behind the face of a Confessor.
Confessors have no friends, bar other Confessors, and all her life Kahlan longed to have a friend who loved her for herself. Kahlan's lifetime wish became a reality when she met her future husband, Richard Rahl. Soon after, Kahlan made many friends and no longer felt the loneliness of being born a Confessor.
Likes: Friends, powers, love
Dislikes: long healing time, no friends, being alone
Strengths: As with all Confessors, Kahlan possessed the magic of love. With but a touch, Kahlan could cause a person to become fanatically loyal to her, to the point that he or she no longer possessed a sense of self. However, whereas a typical Confessor would be incapacitated for up to a day after having used her power, Kahlan required only hours to recover. This in particular highlighted her as an unusually powerful Confessor.
Kahlan's power over those touched by her magic was seemingly limitless. Indeed, she even possessed the ability to cause a subject touched by her power to die at her command.
Kahlan also had the ability to invoke the Subtractive side of her magic, the Con Dar or the Confessor's Blood Rage; though only on behalf of her true love, Richard Rahl. The Con Dar allowed Kahlan the power to use her traditional Confessor's magic without touching a person, and caused her not to need time to recover from its application afterwards.
In addition, whilst in the midst of the Con Dar, Kahlan could summon immensely powerful blue lightning.
In addition to her magical abilities, Kahlan was a master linguist, having mastered every major language of the Midlands, as well as a majority of the minor ones. As the Mother Confessor, Kahlan was naturally a skilled diplomat and well versed in all matters of state. Kahlan also had a strong knowledge of principles of magic, having been tutored by wizards as a child, though she herself did not possess powers beyond her Confessor's magic.
Having been taught all manner of combat styles by her father, and in greater depth by Richard, Kahlan was a skilled physical combatant. In particular, Kahlan proved more than capable as a swordsman and archer. As the Mother Confessor, Kahlan was well versed in military strategy, and was a tactician comparable to Emperor Jagang.
Weakness: Losing control of powers and grief.
Character Bio: Kahlan's mother, the Mother Confessor at the time, chose King Wyborn Amnell of Galea as her mate, to ensure that any daughter she conceived would have a strong father. Kahlan's mother took him with her power and the mating eventually produced Kahlan. Before she gave birth to Kahlan, her mother met with a powerful sorceress named Adie, who gave her a necklace to help protect Kahlan while she was in the womb. Adie would become an ally of Kahlan's in her future struggle with the Imperial Order.
As Kahlan grew, her mother ordered her father to spend time with her and to teach her about war, tactics, and swordsmanship. He did this readily, as he would any job he was ordered to do by the Mother Confessor. Thus Kahlan became proficient in military matters, tactics and combat. In addition, along with the other Confessor children, Kahlan studied with the wizards at the Wizard's Keep in Aydindril. There, she learnt of magic, diplomacy and other matters expected of a Confessor.
However, while Kahlan was yet a young girl, a terrible sickness took her mother, and her father died from the shock of his mistress' death. After this the mother of Dennee took on the role of Kahlan's mother, thus she and Dennee became something like sisters.
The Confessors' magic in Dennee was frail as was Dennee herself. Dennee was greatly pained by the process of taking confessions. Kahlan would do anything to spare Dennee pain. When it came time for them to take confessions, Kahlan would often go in Dennee's place. These confessions often haunted Kahlan afterwards, but she eventually learned to deal with them, as her mother taught her, and as all Confessors must.
The magic of the Confessors was especially strong within Kahlan; and in combination with her keen intelligence, this led to her being named the youngest Mother Confessor in history. However, during her reign, Darken Rahl began to consolidate a power base within the Midlands, and soon dissolved the boundary that separated it from his land of D'Hara. Soon the People's Peace Army began to invade the Midlands in Rahl's name, citing motives of peace. However, this proved not to be the case.
One day Kahlan went to take a confession in Dennee's place. When she was returning home she heard a moaning from the bushes on the side of the road. On investigation, she discovered Dennee, lying broken in the bushes. Dennee had fallen victim to a quad, a group of four men sent by Darken Rahl to kill Confessors. Dennee was beyond healing and Kahlan stayed with her until she died. After this incident, Kahlan wanted to use her power to intervene, to hurt and to kill those who had killed her sister. Kahlan buried the necklace given to her mother by Adie with Dennee, who had always been fond of it. Unfortunately for Dennee, Rahl had outlawed magic and as a result ordered the deaths of all Confessors.
When all the Confessors had been brutally murdered, bar Kahlan, and Rahl had placed the mythical Boxes of Orden into play, the remaining five wizards decided to act. They realized that the only one who could save the Midlands was the old First Wizard. They cast a web over Kahlan that allowed her to pass through the Boundary to Westland, and charged her to find the First Wizard. After doing this, they killed themselves, to preserve the secret of Kahlan's mission.

RP sample: Kahlan prided in her powers and the fact that she could make someone love her by touching them and the fact that they would also listen to what ever she said. The thing she didn't like is that she could make them die by touching them also. She did like Richard after meeting him when he saved her. She then began to follow him and fall for him. She agreed to help him save the world. During her time Kahlan learned how to use her powers with out touching people, thus making healing time quicker for herself.
Kahlan over time began to realize how much Richard meant to her and where their life was going. She saw them marry and have a family. But she also didn't want to rush into anything. Kahlan could be happy just doing about anything. Richard coming to her aid and helping her with her powers also brought her out of her alone shell and she had many friends. she was happy now.
"That's better. The perfect life and happiness now." Kahlan liked to think to herself before bed. It was so soothing for her. Bed time came fast and hit Kahlan like it never happened and as morning came she awoke and headed to make breakfast for her love.
